Implant-supported dentures are an excellent way to replace an entire arch of teeth at a time. Implant-supported dentures typically cost between $10,000 to $30,000 per arch.

If most of your teeth are damaged or decayed, implant-supported dentures can help you regain the ability to chew and speak clearly. They can also bring back your beautiful, natural-looking smile.

How Implant-Supported Dentures Work

Implant-supported dentures provide an entire arch of replacement teeth with relatively few dental implants acting as anchors. They provide excellent chewing ability and an attractive appearance.

Step 1; Consultation

To receive implant-supported dentures, first, you must meet with Dr. Braasch for a comprehensive dental examination. Dr. Braasch will use advanced Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) technology to produce a highly detailed, 3-D model of your teeth, jaws, and oral tissues. This model will help Dr. Braasch plan your surgery safely.

If your CBCT scan indicates you do not have enough bone mass in your jaw for successful implant surgery, you can receive a bone graft after your tooth extraction.

The doctor will take many digital images and impressions of your existing teeth to help your new dentures look as much like your natural smile as possible.

Step 2: Extraction

The next step is extracting your remaining teeth. After the extraction, the doctor makes small openings in the gum and places the implant anchors. You may need as few as four to six implants to anchor a full arch of dentures.

Dr. Braasch may be able to place the implants simultaneously with the extraction. You will be sent home with a temporary denture to wear while the lab fabricates your permanent denture.

The implant anchors must heal for a few months as they bond with the jaw in osseointegration. Osseointegration helps to keep your jawbone healthy and prevents bone loss.

Step 3: Restoration

After your jawbone has healed, the oral surgeon can fit your final restoration. After you become accustomed to your implant-supported dentures, you will no longer have to worry about your damaged teeth.

  • Natural look and feel
  • Fewer dietary restrictions than with traditional dentures
  • Preserve jawbone health and mass
  • Lower maintenance than traditional dentures
  • Much less expensive than a full mouth of single-tooth implants
